New MG ZS T 2021 detailed: Chinese brand expands SUV line-up with Mitsubishi ASX rival
The MG ZST scores a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine outputting 120kW of power.
Both the old and new versions of the MG ZS small SUV will share the same showroom space in Australia, with the latter to be introduced in the August and called ZST.
MG Motor Australia is yet to detail pricing and specification for the ZST, but has confirmed it will be offered in two variants that feature “a premium interior cabin, as well as the latest in technology, comfort and convenience”.
The ZST will score MG’s Pilot safety suite that first debuted on the HS mid-size SUV, which includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-change assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.
A digital instrument cluster, LED headlights and a panoramic sunroof is also expected on the equipment list, while the ZST also scores a 120kW 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine.
As such, expect to see the ZST sit above the ZS line-up in price, which kicks off at $23,490 drive-away for the base Excite 2WD and tops out at $27,490 for the Essence.
For reference, ZS is powered by either an 84kW/150Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine or 82kW/160Nm 1.0-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine.
With the rollout of the ZST, MG Motor Australia’s product portfolio rises to four, with other models including the MG3 light car, ZS crossover and recently-launched HS mid-size SUV.
