Cars like the popular Kia Sportage have had prices increased, but some models remain unchanged.
Kia Australia has increased prices of some of its most popular models, with some of its most popular picks now hundreds or thousands of dollars more expensive.
The pricing adjustments for new Kia cars came into effect on January 1, 2023, and affects models like the Picanto, Cerato, Stinger, Stonic, and Sportage.
According to published pricing data, the highest price increase has come for the Kia Stinger, which is now $1500 more expensive for each variant than previously.

The popular Kia Sportage, however, has been spared a big lift, and is only $350 more expensive across the range than it was in December last year.
Australia’s most affordable new car, the Kia Picanto, has also had a price adjustment, now $400 more than it was before but still holding onto its title.
The next-closest MG3 hatch is technically cheaper than the Suzuki Baleno at $18,990 drive-away, rather than the Baleno's $18,490 priced before on-road costs.
Kia’s other small car, the Rio, has had no pricing changes to its RRP before on-roads, though drive-away pricing may have changed depending on the state.
The Kia Cerato has had its price increased by $300 before on-roads for each variant, as has the Kia Stonic small SUV.
A spokesperson for Kia Australia confirmed to CarsGuide the pricing changes were based on the increased cost of business operation, and not due to specification changes.
