Renault offers seven-year warranty on Koleos until March 31
Renault Australia has joined other local manufacturers such as Kia and SsangYong in offering a seven-year warranty with unlimited kilometre coverage on its Koleos SUV - albeit only until March 31st, 2019.
The promotional deal places the Koleos at the pointy end of the industry for manufacturer's warranties with only Kia, SsangYong and MG having offered a similar warranty on their full range of products. Tesla, though, offers an eight-year/160,000km plan.
Currently, Mitsubishi is offering a seven-year warranty on new Triton models (officially until June 30, 2019), while Holden has previously offered the same on some of its models, including the ZB Commodore.
For buyers of the Koleos in March, the seven-year warranty is made sweeter by the addition of drive-away pricing, which starts at $29,990 drive-away for the entry level Koleos Life. The mid-spec Koleos Zen is $34,990 drive-away, the limited-run S Edition is $42,990 d/a, the top-spec Intens 4x2 is pegged at $43,870, the Intens 4x4 at $45,990 and the Intens 4x4 diesel is $47,990.
Koleos petrol models are powered by a 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which is mated to a CVT automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive. Fuel consumption is rated at 8.1L/100km for two-wheel drive models, and 8.3L/100km for all-wheel drive.
The Koleos Intens diesel uses a 130kW/380Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged unit which uses a claimed 6.1L/100km and is only available with all-wheel drive and a CVT automatic.
All Koleos models come with three years/90,000km capped-price servicing at $349 each service and 12 months roadside assistance. Clio, Captur and Koleos models are also available with three months deferred payments.
