The new SsangYong Tivoli XLV 2019 model may be the biggest small SUV in the segment, but it won't come with the biggest price when the new model launches in November 2018.
The Tivoli XLV, or X-citing Lifestyle Vehicle, is essentially a stretched version of the Tivoli model, with an extra 245mm of metalwork giving the XLV a big boot space of 720 litres, according to SsangYong. That means it competes with the likes of the Honda HR-V and the Honda CR-V, plus entry-grade versions of the Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander.
The stretched Tivoli model will be offered with drive-away pricing, so you won’t have to think about factoring in on-road costs when looking at the prices listed below.
The Tivoli XLV will be offered only with a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine across the three-tier model range, and it’s the same unit employed by the smaller Tivoli model, with 85kW of power and 300Nm of torque. The Tivoli XLV will only come with a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel consumption is rated at 5.9 litres per 100 kilometres for the 2WD, and 6.3L/100km for the AWD.
The entry-grade model will be the ELX 2WD, a front-wheel drive variant listed at $31,990 drive-away.
The other grade available is the Ultimate AWD version, which lists at $34,990, and this model can be had in two-tone paint, which pushes the price to $35,490.
SsangYong has confirmed that every version in the model range will have a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, seven airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) and forward collision warning (FCW) as standard.
Standard inclusions also cover Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a 7.0-inch touchscreen media system, plus push-button start, keyless entry, auto headlights and wipers, leather seat trim with heating for front seats and dual-zone climate control.
The base grade will come with 16-inch alloy wheels, while the top-spec model will have 18s. Ultimate grade versions will also have leather seat trim, plus heated and cooled front seats, and a sunroof.
All SsangYong models will be sold with a strong seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty program, plus seven-year roadside assist cover, and a seven-year capped price servicing plan.
