
Tank stunt | how not to test your brakes
Testing procedures vary depending on where you live, but it's safe to assume if any props are needed they are usually witches hats or crash test dummies. It looks like the army in the Netherlands prefers to use humans and is supremely confident in their tank brakes -- but not so concerned about workplace health and safety.
The Leopard tank can reach speeds in excess of 70km/h and tips the scales at just over 60 tonnes. It's fair to say the brakes have to be working very hard to bring that sort of vehicle to a halt quickly.
We're not completely sure if the video is real but we're glad this isn't a tank brake test fail video. Without room for error it could have easily been an entry into the Darwin Awards. Would we like to be part of a similar demonstration? No tank you...
