The 420d Coupe is the only diesel on offer in the 4 Series range, itself a spin-off of the 3 Series. It’s priced at $71,200 for either an eight-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual.
This list price is $2300 more than the 420i Coupe below it, though the specs remain the same. The 2016 update adds more equipment including Adaptive M suspension, a heads-up display, powered folding exterior mirrors surround-view camera and lane departure warning.
The 420d line runs BMW’s 140kW/400Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. A six-speed manual gearbox is a no-cost option.
