Ford Fiesta 2014: Automatic transmission problems

Answered by CarsGuide 10 Jul 2015

The transmission you've got is not a conventional automatic that we've become accustomed to over the years. This one is in effect a manual gearbox with an automatic shifting mechanism, but it's being sold as an automatic. Ford is not alone in using it, but it should be more proactive in letting people know what it is and how it works, and how they should drive it. First, you need to separate the driving characteristics of the transmission from a mechanical malfunction that's occurring, because they are two different issues.
