Honda was one of the first in Australia to offer a hybrid model with the Insight predating the famed Toyota Prius, and it was also the first with a petrol-electric hybrid sports car.
Yep, the CR-Z predates the likes of the Ferrari 296 GTB and McLaren Atura by a whole decade, and was even offered with a six-speed manual gearbox.
With a 1.5-litre petrol engine and electric motor under the hood, the CR-Z punched out 90kW/174Nm to the front wheels, so it wasn’t exactly fast, but it was nimble, fun and – best of all – frugal.
The line-up currently starts at $31,460 for the CR-Z Hybrid and ranges through to $40,260 for the range-topping CR-Z Hybrid.
