Hyundai Elantra 2014

The 2014 Hyundai Elantra range of configurations is currently priced from $4,999. Our most recent review of the 2014 Hyundai Elantra resulted in a score of 8 out of 10 for that particular example.

Carsguide Contributing Journalist Ewan Kennedy had this to say at the time: Hyundai Elantra Series II continues its predecessor's good combination of low price, sleek looks and excellent engines, so should sell well. If the marketing guys can be persuaded to rename the Elantra as the Hyundai i30 sedan the total sales of the two bodies could well give Toyota Corolla and Mazda3 a run for their money at the top end of the sales race in Australia.

You can read the full review here.

This is what Ewan Kennedy liked most about this particular version of the Hyundai Elantra: Stylish, Nice interior, Roomy

The 2014 Hyundai Elantra carries a braked towing capacity of up to 1300 Kg, but check to ensure this applies to the configuration you're considering.

Check out real-world situations relating to the Hyundai Elantra 2014 here, particularly what our experts have to say about them.

  • Hyundai Elantra 2014: How do I sell my car privately?

The registration needs to be transferred within 14 days of the vehicle being sold. On sale you need to complete and sign the seller’s section (Part B) of the Vehicle Registration Transfer Application (F3520) and have the buyer sign it as well. Keep this as proof of transfer until the registration has been transferred out of your name. The buyer keeps Part A of the form and is responsible for submitting it to Department of Transport and Main Roads.

  • What is a good second hand family car?

I would rule out the Cruze straight away, they have too many issues with reliability with them to be considered. The Elantra and the Camry are both good cars. Your budget should allow you to buy a 2014 Elantra, but probably won’t stretch to a Camry. You might have to go for a 2012-2013 Camry.

  • Do South Korean cars use lighter steel?

Hyundai spokesman Bill Thomas replies on behalf of South Korean brands: "Hyundai uses only the finest grades of steel in the construction of its cars — in fact, we are the only car maker on earth that makes its own steel, so we can control its quality to very fine tolerances. It's not thinner or lighter, it's just very high quality. The new Elantra, for example, uses 53 per cent advanced ultra-high-strength steel in its body construction, which makes it 30 per cent stiffer than the model it replaces. It's also worth noting that Hyundai uses a huge amount of Australian iron ore in the construction of our steel, from Western Australia, so there's a bit of Australia in all of our cars."
