The Hyundai i20 is available from $35,500 to $36,500 for the 2025 Hatchback across a range of models.
Although Hyundai sold its i20 light hatchback in Australia from 2010 to 2015, the second-generation version unveiled in 2014 never made it Down Under due to sourcing issues.
It is understood the local arm of the South Korean brand wanted to source cars from Turkey instead of India, but currency fluctuations and a shrinking light car segment nixed any plans to introduce the i20.
Regardless, current prices range from $35,500 for the I20 N to $36,500 for the I20 N TTR in overseas markets.
Petrol and diesel power are offered in the i20, as well as a choice of manual or automatic transmission.
From the outside, the new i20 stands out from the old with its trapezoidal fog lights, hexagonal front grille and blacked-out C-pillars, while inside features scratch-resistant hard plastics and cloth upholstery.

Hyundai i20 or i30: Which better secondhand buy?
Even though it’s older I would suggest that the i30 is perhaps the better buy with its low kays, but the i20 is also a good car and hasn’t done a lot of kays. Make sure the odometer readings are genuine; they are low for the ages of the cars.

Best reliable used hatchback on a budget?
The Hyundai i20 and i30 are both fine car, so too is the Lancer, of the three the i30 is the better. You should be able to find a 2010 model with your budget. You won't have any problems with getting parts if you need them, and they are quite reliable, so you shouldn't have any trouble with them in short to medium-term.
