Have you ever gone to a car meet with your pride and joy only to be laughed at by everyone?
Well, Nicave13 from www.camaro5.com experienced this problem with his ’91 Ford Taurus, which prompted him to give his rust bucket a makeover and transform it into a Camaro.
Why he thought this would make the car more respectable is beyond us.
After discovering the bonnet of both cars were the same width (122cm), he sourced Camaro parts, such as the front bumper, headlights, tail-lights, rear bumper, side mirrors and spoiler, before whacking it all together.
While you can argue the front end looks mint, the rear is a bit of a mess as extra work was needed in order to make things 'fit'.
Topping off the exterior is a sparkling red paint job, large chrome wheels (America's second love after cheese) and the exhaust tips from a Corvette.
Underneath the body, everything is still a Taurus, including the 3.0-litre V6 and front-wheel drive layout.
All up the project cost $US6000 (close to $9000 local money) and only for a couple of grand more he could have afforded a V6 Camaro. Surely, that would be less embarrassing to drive?
