Toyota HiLux 2007: Rattling Engine
It doesn't matter what brand of fuel you use, the problem in the fuel-injectors. It's a problem with today's common-rail diesel engines and the injectors used in them. The only solution is to replace them. Phone Toyota's customer assistance people (Ph: 1800 869 682) if you want to pursue the problem.
Toyota HiLux 2007: Camshaft snapped
I would ask Toyota to investigate what appears to be a serious issue with your car, and request that they cover the cost of replacing the engine. If they baulk at that suggestion continue to negotiate with them for part compensation. Carmakers often cover part of the cost in situations like yours.
Toyota HiLux 2007: Desert driving
It's something other owners could think about, but it seems to defeat the purpose of buying an auto transmission.
Toyota HiLux 2007: Problems overheating
Fitting an external oil cooler to your auto is a good safety measure when you're doing a lot of towing, and shifting down a gear before you get to a hill is also good driving practice.
Toyota HiLux 2007: Should I have to replace the clutch after only 10,000km?
TOYOTAS have a bit of a history of clutch-wear issues when geared for highway work, as is the latest HiLux. But usually the problem surfaces only if you're doing a lot of low-speed driving or towing. This could be an explanation in your case, but we'll wait for other HiLux owners to contact us and see what they have to say.
