Lexus RX 450h 2018 review: snapshot
The 450h is the biggest (and, we think, best) option in the RX family, combining a V6 engine with an electric motor to provide ample oomph without killing you at the bowser.

The Q7 e-tron takes the same basic package of the big SUV - 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6, quattro drivetrain, terrific interior - and adds a battery pack and electric motors. The e-tron allows you to run in pure EV mode for a claimed 56km, hybrid mode for maximum efficiency or battery-hold mode to keep the electrons in the battery.
While the options list shrinks, it's partly because the e-tron brings a few extra goodies to an already well-loaded table. The e-tron features 19-inch alloys wheels, three-zone climate control, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, sat nav, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, Wi-Fi hotspot, keyless entry and start, active cruise control, hill-descent control, power tailgate, electric heated front seats, leather trim, park assist, 'Virtual Cockpit' digital dash, electric everything and auto wipers and headlights.Â
Audi's 'MMI' rotary dial system comes with a 10-speaker stereo with DAB digital radio and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all on an 8.3-inch screen.
The e-tron has six airbags, reverse cross traffic alert, traction and stability controls, forward and reverse AEB, around-view cameras as well as forward and side, blind-spot sensor, active lane assist, and lane-departure warning. The e-tron has two ISOFIX points and three top-tether anchors.
All of this adds up to a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating.
