My 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe is coming up for its 180,000 km service and the service manager at my dealer has told me it will cost about $1300 as the timing chain has to be replaced. It has been a great car, no trouble at all, but do you think I could reasonably expect to get another 90,000 km out of it of I spend this amount of money on it?

20 May 2010It's not possible to say absolutely that you will get another 90,000 km out of your car, that would take it to almost 300,000 km, which is a lot of kays by any measure. But as the car has given you no trouble to date, I would think you could reasonably expect it to keep on going for some time yet.
