A v8 that's great, mate
Asked by Ronald Lee-Harris
Could you advise me on the fuel consumption I should be getting from my 1996 V8 Fairlane? After a number of checks, I note that it averages 9.97 litres/100km on a trip, 12.4 litres/100km on short runs, and 15.76 litres/100km when I tow my caravan? I have also gone from Adelaide to Melbourne on a single tank of fuel.

3 Jul 2003I would say that you're getting excep tional fuel consumption from your Fairlane under all the conditions you quote. Less than 10 litres/100km for such a big car with a V8 is good. I can't give you a real-life fuel consumption figure for your car, but I would say that its performing well on the basis of the figures you've supplied.
