Asked by Marwan Makssi
I HAVE a 1976 HZ Holden Statesman I love driving. It's a great car with a 308 V8 engine running on petrol/gas. Would it go up in value as time goes by? The colour is brown to red. Where can I find more about the names of colours?
Answered by CarsGuide
5 May 2005IF IT is in good condition it may go up in value, but it will take many years. The problem is that the HZ is yet to be regarded as a classic so it's valued more as an old used car than a collectable. Right now it's worth $3000-$5000, depending on condition, but given time it could rise to double that. You can identify the colour from the code on the build plate attached to the firewall. Take the code to an automotive paint specialist and they will be able to give you the name.
