Late last year I noticed the paint on top of the cab of my 2011 Isuzu D-Max was starting to fade. It was outside the factory warranty period, but the dealer told me to contact Isuzu customer care and they told me to get a quote for the repair of the vehicle. They recently got back to me and told me evidence indicates that the deterioration of the paint and finish is from environmental fallout/external factors and it is not a factory defect. As such it is not warrantable. My argument is that the vehicle has only done 30,000km and it has been garaged all the time except when parked at work. Hoping for some advice.

6 Mar 2015Fading is not unusual with the paint used on cars today, but to see fading in just three years would suggest something is wrong. If you want to take it further you should get an independent opinion from a paint expert, and if that opinion is that there is something wrong with the paint you could then take it to Isuzu and ask for the affected areas to be repainted.
