I've just bought an AU11 Ford Fairlane with the 5.0-litre V8 and having read about the spark plugs seizing in the cylinder head and breaking off when it comes time to replace them I put my concerns to a Ford Dealer. I was assured that the problem with spark plugs was with the later BA model and not the AU11. Is that correct?

28 Jul 2011Yes, it is. The problem is related to the 5.4-litre three-valve V8 used in the BA and doesn't affect the 5.0-litre V8 in the earlier model.
