I currently have a 2012 Nissan Murano, which I'm likely to hold for another couple of years, but have started thinking about my next vehicle. I’m looking to downsize to a mid/small SUV, but electric. What are the options now, and where are the car companies headed in the future with this type of vehicle? Do you believe electric will be more mainstream within 2-3 years?
Answered by CarsGuide
4 Jan 2019Electric vehicles will be more mainstream in 2-3 years time, but they won’t be anything like mainstream in that time. Getting the purchase price down is the key to electric vehicles becoming more popular. In your timeframe I would be still be thinking about a small petrol-engined vehicle, with a view to going electric the next time you change cars.
