Asked by Glen Gibson
I bought a brand-new Renault Clio a year ago and have had problems from day one with brake fluid leaking out from under the cap on the reservoir. The brake fluid is constantly leaking into the engine bay taking the paint off. My driveway is also ruined and who knows what other damage the fluid is doing? I have since been told this is normal for this model until Renault comes up with something else. The latest fix was to tie a rag around the bottom of the lid to stop it leaking.

20 Apr 2015Renault spokeswoman, Emily Fadeyev, says: "The brake fluid leaking in Mr Gibson's Clio is not the normal operation of a Clio. Our head office customer service team have been in contact with Mr Gibson since we became aware of this issue and we've asked him to take his vehicle to the nearest dealership so they can investigate what is happening with his car. The dealer has been advised to ensure Mr Gibson has a loan car so he isn't inconvenienced further".
