I have a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe SR, with Brembo brakes fitted from the factory. I had the pads and rotors changed at 22,000 km, as they were worn out. After a lot of arguing Hyundai paid for this, as I thought it was ridiculous that they needed to be replaced so soon. They said 20,000 km was normal for Brembo brakes, which I don’t agree with. I’ve now done a further 17,000 km and the new rotors have quite a big lip on them indicating to me that they need replacing. We just use the car for normal driving to and from work. Do you believe this is normal?

20 Nov 2017It is very low kays for the brakes to be wearing out, but Brembo brakes are performance-oriented brakes and you would expect them to wear out faster than regular brakes. I would consult a brake specialist for an opinion.
