Two of Nissan's most popular models – the mid-size X-Trail SUV and the Navara ute – are now more expensive to buy, rising in price by $500 and $750 respectively.
Nissan Australia chalks up the price bump to the "rising costs of raw materials and shipping" that have "had a knock-on effect on vehicle pricing".
The Japanese brand isn't alone in passing these added costs to consumers as Toyota and Mazda have also done the same across most of their models.
A spokesperson for the brand also added that "Nissan is working hard to ensure that we continue to offer the best value proposition for our customers".
As such, the X-Trail line-up now starts from $37,250 before on-road costs for the five-seat, front-drive ST – which makes it $10 pricier than the mechanically related Mitsubishi Outlander ES ($37,240).
The X-Trail line-up extends to nine variants overall, and tops out at $57,690 for the e-Power Ti-L grade.
Nissan Australia has confirmed there are no mechanical or spec changes to coincide with the modest price bump.
As a reminder, all non-hybrid X-Trails are fitted with a 2.5-litre petrol engine that produces 135kW/245Nm, while five- and seven-seat configurations, and front- and all-wheel drive is available depending on spec.
Standard equipment across the line-up includes LED head- and tail-lights, an 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen (growing to 12.3 inches in higher grades), autonomous emergency braking (AEB), rear cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.
Of course, more expensive variants score a longer list of equipment to justify their price increases, including dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, larger diameter wheels, synthetic leather interior, a sunroof and powered tailgate.
As for the Navara, pricing now kicks off from $33,050 for the manual, 4x2 single-cab SL, which makes it more expensive than a base Isuzu D-Max, GWM Ute, Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota HiLux, but more accessible than a Ford Ranger or Mazda BT-50.
The 4x2 Navara range tops out with the dual-cab ST-X now priced at $51,445.
Over with the more popular 4x4 Navara, prices start at $40,050 for the manual single-cab SL, and stretches up to the $70,765 dual-cab Pro-4X Warrior.
All versions of the Navara are powered by a 140kW/450Nm 2.3-litre turbo-diesel engine, barring the manual 4x2 SL variants in single cab chassis and dual-cab pick-up form that make use of a 120kW/403Nm tune.
Naturally, the more you spend, the more features you get, but equipment highlights include a 7.0-inch driver display, leather-accented steering wheel with paddle shifters, dual-zone climate control and an 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen.
Safety gear includes AEB, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic headlights, blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view monitor and lane departure warning for most grades.
