Hyundai i30 2017 review
Hyundai isn't mucking around with its third-generation i30. At all. The small hatch was the third most popular car with Aussies in 2016, and the company wants to keep the faith with the new car.

The Astra R+ sits above the entry R in the Astra hatch range, but beneath the RS. The R+ lists for $22,740 if you’d like it with manual gearbox while the R+ with the automatic transmission is $1000 more.
The R+ is in every way the same car as the $21,490 entry grade R but with one major difference: it comes with an advanced safety equipment package.
Is it worth paying the extra $1250 over the R for the R+? Absolutely. The package adds city AEB, lane keeping assistance, a forward distance indicator and collision warning.
Being identical in every other way to the R the R+ comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors and 17-inch alloy wheels.
There are two engines in the Astra line-up, but the R+ gets the smaller of them – the 1.4-litre four cylinder which makes 110kW/245Nm with the six-speed manual and 110kW/240Nm with the six-speed auto.
The combined average fuel consumption for both the manual and auto is 5.8L/100km.
