The RAV4 Cruiser is the top-of-the range RAV4, available in 2.5-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel, both of them six-speed automatics and all-wheel drive.
The petrol lists at $44,490 and the diesel a further $6000 up the scale at $50,500 (a stout increase on the MY17 model).
The Cruiser spec-level is basically a GXL with a few extra bits. Standard is an 11-speaker JBL-branded stereo with the same 6.1-inch touchscreen as the rest of the range, leather trim, 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, auto LED headlights, auto wipers, keyless entry and start, active cruise control, electric tailgate and a space-saver spare (the full-size spare option is a 17-inch steel wheel for $300).
Like all RAV4s, Toyota Safety Sense is standard, which adds blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, auto high-beam, forward collision warning, reverse cross-traffic alert and auto emergency braking. There are three top-tether anchor points or two ISOFIX points for child seats.
The RAV4 carries a five-star ANCAP safety rating, the highest available.
