Replacing a Liberty with a similar SUV?

Answered by CarsGuide 8 Feb 2016

The XV will be fine around town but is very small in the boot, and the same goes for the CX-3. If you want a similar cabin and boot space to the Liberty then go for the CX-5, but also have a look at the new Kia Sportage.

What SUV should I buy for two people with dogs?

Answered by CarsGuide 8 Feb 2016

The CX-5 is still best in class but a new Kia Sportage has just arrived and promises to be just as good. I’d steer you towards a Subaru Forester or Outback. They drive like a car, are more refined and easily handle country roads.

Should I replace my Forester with the new model?

Answered by CarsGuide 8 Feb 2016

It sounds like the right time to move into an all-new Forester, to power you across the divide and into retirement. No matter what you do with repairs to the current car, it’s going to be a gamble.

Hyundai or Kia for a smaller SUV?

The ix35 is definitely a good choice but I lean to the styling of the Kia Sportage and it has a longer warranty. They are mechanically identical, apart from suspension tune.

The CX-5 is a clear winner for what you want and is virtually a weekly recipient of The Tick.

Kia Sportage 2014: Persistent oil leak

Answered by CarsGuide 17 Apr 2015

Take it back to the dealer and inform him that the leak hasn't been fixed and ask that it be done again. Whatever was done before clearly hasn't worked and you need to insist that they continue to attempt to fix it. Let it be known that you won't be satisfied until it is fixed. On your side is the fact that he car is only a few months old. There should be no argument about fixing it. If the dealer can't fix it, escalate you claim by taking it to KIA head office.

Good pick for mid-size SUV?

Answered by CarsGuide 30 Mar 2015

I'd go for a Kia Sportage or a Hyundai ix35. They are essentially the same under the skin, and both get The Tick, so it comes down to the deal.

Definitely pay extra for the camera, but if you're not going camping or off-road then there is no point to all-wheel drive.
