Magna wheel vibration
It’s clearly not the tyres, so start looking at the front-end. Begin with the wheel bearings, and then check the drive shafts and any other rotating component.
Magna to lpg
THE Magna goes well on LPG, but you need to decide how long you will keep it before committing to spending the money on the conversion. Sure the rebate will reduce the payback time, but you still need to keep it for a couple of years before you start saving money on your gas bills.
Right car for my son
GENERALLY the Magna is a good, solid and reliable car, a good choice for a driver starting out. Because they're getting old now, there is a greater chance of problems occurring, but the Magna isn't any more likely to have a problem than any other car. You're better off buying an auto. They're easier to find because more of them were built, and the resale value will be better.
Spare a thought
THE Dunlop Monza tyre has been superseded by the 200R, so you won't be able to match the tread pattern. Fitting such an old tyre to a road wheel is not recommended and the best advice is to discard it. Alternately, you could keep it as a spare providing you use it only in an emergency.
Magna running rough
MAYBE it doesn't like its new home . . . just joking. I am guessing the RACV is correct in its assessment, and I'm guessing the carburettor either wasn't serviced or wasn't serviced correctly when it was supposed to have been a year ago. It's not easy to set the auto choke carburettor correctly, and if you don't you can have all sorts of problems with the Magna. Take it to Des & Grays Automotive Services in Ferntree Gully. They're Mitsubishi-trained mechanics and will fix it for you.
