Are there known problems with 2015 Mitsubishi Triton's intercooler pipes/hoses?

Answered by CarsGuide 30 Sep 2020

The MQ Triton doesn’t seem any better or worse than its rivals in this department. But, like other makes and models, there’s a healthy aftermarket supply of replacement intercoolers and the pipework that feeds them, so it’s definitely not an unknown problem.

But your experience is exceptional. Were all five vehicles bought brand-new at the same time? If so, they’re all likely to be from the same production run which could explain a faulty batch of hoses.

I wouldn’t expect the paint to be peeling in such a short time. Take it back to the dealer who fitted it and request they repair it.

Mitsubishi Triton 2015: Shuddering

Answered by CarsGuide 16 Sep 2016

It would seem that there is an electronic issue with your car; the challenge for the dealer is to find the cause so it can be fixed. The car is still in warranty so you should be pressing the dealer and Mitsubishi to fix it, and fast. Go back to the dealer and find out when the Mitsubishi rep will be checking your car. If you get no satisfaction from the dealer, go directly to Mitsubishi's customer assistance people (Ph: 1300 13 12 11) and explain your problem to them.

2015 MN Mitsubishi Triton fuel consumption

Answered by CarsGuide 25 Sep 2015

It does appear to be a long way above the claimed combined consumption, enough to suggest it's more than a 'green' engine effect. I doubt it would drop by a third after running in. As it stands now I wouldn't think you had a case for a vehicle swap or a refund, but you certainly have a case for asking Mitsubishi to investigate and fix your car. Start by asking the dealer to investigate the cause of the problem, if it's beyond him ask him to get the help of Mitsubishi's service people. If all that fails then you could consider taking the matter further and perhaps asking for a new car. In the meantime keep very detailed records all conversations and phone calls with the dealer and Mitsubishi, and of any work done on the car. This could help later on.

Ranger, Amarok, Navara or Colorado?

Answered by CarsGuide 25 Aug 2014

The Ranger gets The Tick and is a clear winner from the Amarok. The all-new Navara is not even close. But we're expecting a new Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota HiLux in the first half of 2015, so check back nearer then.
