We passed the above response from Mitsubishi on to Jodie and Nick. Unfortunately they don't feel that it has been addressed and they believe the issue remains unresolved. We have again contacted Mitsubishi on their behalf to attempt to clarify the company's offer to replace the differential as stated in John Taylor's response to us.

It does sound like it could be a problem with the differential. At this stage you should continue to seek a solution with the dealer and Mitsubishi. We will contact Mitsubishi on your behalf and see if we can enlist higher up help.

I presume the insurance company has inspected the vehicle, so peak top them and ask why they have chosen to write it off. Ask for a report on the findings of their inspection and take that to an engineer approved by your registration authority and have them check it for you. You might be able to use that information to appeal the decision with the rego people.
