2021 Alpina B8 Gran Coupe pricing and specs detailed: New Audi RS7 Sportback and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe hits the block
Alpina Australia has released pricing for the new B8 Gran Coupe upper-large sedan, which will combine coupe-like styling with high-end luxury and performance when it arrives in July.
Priced from $322,900 plus on-road costs, the B8 Gran Coupe commands a $45,000 premium over the BMW M850i Gran Coupe it’s based upon but undercuts the rivalling BMW M8 Gran Coupe by $32,000.
Both the B8 Gran Coupe and M8 Gran Coupe are motivated by slightly different versions of a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, with the former producing 457kW/800Nm, while the latter develops 460kW/750Nm.

Either way, an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission pairs with an xDrive all-wheel-drive system, with the B8 Gran Coupe sprinting from a standstill to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, while the M8 Gran Coupe reaches triple digits in 3.2s.
That said, the Audi RS7 Sportback- and Mercedes-AMG GT63 S 4-Door Coupe-rivalling B8 Gran Coupe has bragging rights when it comes to top speed, with it maxing out at 324km/h, while the M8 Gran Coupe can ‘only’ hit 305km/h.
The B8 Gran Coupe gets its own suspension tune, with comfort the priority, so much so that its adaptive dampers have a Comfort Plus setting, which is something the M8 Gran Coupe lacks.
Styling-wise, the B8 Gran Coupe stands out from the crowd with its 21-inch Alpina Classic alloy wheels with a signature 20-spoke design and a mixed set of Pirelli P Zero ALP tyres. And yes, Brembo brakes, including 395mm front discs with four-piston callipers, are tucked behind.
Inside, the B8 Gran Coupe’s steering wheel is trimmed in bespoke Lavalina leather and has distinctive blue/green stitching as well as the customary gear shift buttons.
Other standard equipment includes laser headlights, a stainless-steel sports exhaust system with quad tailpipes, soft-close doors, a panoramic sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, heated front and rear seats, and an Alcantara headliner.
Advanced driver-assist systems extend to autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep and steering assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, park assist, surround-view cameras and night vision with pedestrian detection.
