The S remains the entry trim level in the Kia Carnival range, with the new fourth-generation model kicking off at $46,880 (MSRP) or $50,390 (drive away). This is for the petrol version, with the diesel adding an extra $2000. Moving up to the Si will cost you an extra $5500.
You can pick the base S trim level by it’s 17 inch alloys, which means no more hubcaps and steel wheels for the Carnival.
Its equipment highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, yes wireless, through an eight inch multimedia screen, rear parking sensors, roof rails and all the most important safety features. Note that it’s only got a cast plastic steering wheel though, which is a bit cheap in a car of this price level.
Like all Carnival trim levels, the S is available with either a 3.5-litre petrol V6 or a 2.2-litre turbodiesel, with official fuel consumption figures of 9.6L/100km and 6.5L/100km respectively.
