2006 Falcon coolant entering transmission
Changes were made in the BFII model and they seem to have fixed the problem. We don't get reports of it happening on these later models, but the changes don't affect your car. If you intend to keep the car for a long period it would be worth making the modification, but the car is now eight years old so you might think it's not needed.
Environmental levy on logbook service
Dealers pay to dispose of the waste products from servicing your car, like oils, greases, coolant, brake fluids, soiled rags, and so on, and they pass those costs on to you, the customer. Some slug you more than others. The best course of action is to go somewhere else to have your car serviced, as you have been advised.
Ford Falcon: External oil cooler
The problem was solved when the external oil cooler was introduced. It was no longer in contact with the engine coolant, so there was no chance of coolant getting into the auto and causing the damage that was common when the cooler was in the radiator.
Ford Wagon coughing start
It is quite a common problem with cars that have to start on LPG. Most dual-fuel cars get around it by starting on petrol and then automatically switching to LPG after a few seconds. There's probably nothing wrong with your car; if it's running well otherwise, I wouldn't be concerned about it.
Ask Smithy Xtra Falcon XR6 transmission issue
There have been quite a few software issues with the auto trans you’ve got, and the problem is probably associated with that. You need to have a transmission specialist check it for fault codes to try and fins out what is wrong.
Ask Smithy Xtra Ford FG XR6 paint problem
You need to have a paint specialist inspect it for an opinion on whether it’s a problem from the factory or not. Phone Graeme Cuthbert on 0422 444 335.
Faulty Futura engine
It's likely to be a faulty engine sensor that's not telling the computer that it's a cold start and the engine needs extra fuelling to start and run. Take it to a mechanic that has diagnostic equipment and is able to test the computer and its sensors, and if need be, leave the car with them overnight so they can do a cold start the next morning.
