Ask Smithy Xtra BF III Falcon wagon whine
Before you do that I would strongly suggest you get with the dealer and Ford and attempt to thrash out your differences. The lack of feedback from Ford is of concern, it suggests they don’t think there is a problem with your car, that it is within Ford’s specification as they have said, or they can’t solve the problem. It is highly likely that the issues you are concerned about have been observed by Ford’s engineers and deemed to be acceptable for release to production. That is a normal part of the development process of a new car; the problem is that the engineers might have a different view of the problem to you. You could consult an automotive engineer, but that’s likely to be a costly exercise, and I suspect an ultimately frustrating one.
Ask Smithy Xtra shaky brakes on Falcon ute
Have the brake rotors checked; they could be warped. It’s a common problem and they can be machined if they’re not worn out, or replaced if they are too badly worn.
Ford Falcon: Broken dash lights
No, it's hard to justify the cost of repairs at time, and in this case it demonstrates the value of shopping around and finding someone who knows how to do real repairs instead of simply replacing a failed part with a new one. In this case one that might well fail again.
Ask Smithy Xtra Switched off Falcon XR6
While you might find it frustrating, and regard it as a potential safety hazard, I doubt that Ford would accept your point of view. I would simply pay the money and get on with your life, it’s not worth the hassle of fighting what I believe would be a losing battle.
Dead display expensive to repair
You're right the part should last for more than the four years yours did, and like you I reckon Ford should come to the party with the cost of a replacement part or at least part cost. You could pursue them, although ultimately I think you would be unsuccessful. The other point that comes from your experience is the value, or lack thereof, of extended warranties. It's well worth checking exactly what these extended warranties cover, when you do you will probably find that it only covers the major mechanical components and doesn't cover the small items like the display that failed on your car.
Ford Falcon: Clunky gearshift
You are not alone in asking that question, and there is no simple answer to it. There is clearly a problem with the gearbox, and we are attempting to get an answer from Ford on the cause and what they plan to do about it.
Ford Falcon: Balljoint problems
Hopefully Ford will get to the bottom of the problem on your car and fix it so it doesn't occur again. We have had the odd report on failures on Falcons, but nothing like we have had on the Territory.
Ford Falcon 2006: RTV ute rust
While you are clearly distressed about this problem, and rightly so, the only thing you can do is be patient and wait for Ford's response to your claim. Ford is a large company and sometimes takes more time than we would like to respond to problems, but I would give them a week or two more before going back to them again. Be patient, but also be persistent.
Ford Falcon: Won't start on gas
You don't say which type of system you are running, but I will assume it's an old vapour/mixer system as modern injection systems all start on petrol and only switch over the LPG once the engine is warmed up enough to run on it. If your mechanic doesn't know what it wrong with it get him to call the manufacturer of the system and enlist their help, or take it to an LPG system specialist.
