Ford Territory Diesel Problems
Ford Territory 2013: Can I leave it a few days without starting it?
There shouldn’t be any problem in doing that. If it’s going to be a much longer time, like weeks or months, it might be wise to connect a charger up to the battery to maintain the charge.
My Territory has gone into "limp mode"
It can be hard to locate the cause of an intermittent problem when it doesn't happen while the mechanic is there to see it. Even when it is captured by the on-board diagnostics it can still be difficult to find.
I can only suggest you follow the advice from the dealer and get it back pronto once you strike trouble again.
Steering wheel vibration in Ford Territory
There no difference between the models that I can think of that would cause the later ones to vibrate as you describe. I would check the idle speed in Drive to make sure it's not too low.
Choosing between petrol and diesel Territory
We aren't aware of any websites that list the real world fuel economy of cars, and we'd be reluctant to give you any figures as they might not apply to your situation in any case. Working out the time required to recoup the extra cost of the diesel engine is difficult because it depends on the cost of both petrol and diesel at any given time and the relative reduction in fuel consumption from using diesel. Based on your annual mileage, and the fact that it is predominantly suburban, I would suggest petrol as the way to go. If you were doing a lot of highway driving, and a lot of towing, then diesel could be a better bet for you.
RWD Ford Territory maximum towing capacity
When fitted with the standard towing pack the rear-wheel drive Territory is rated to tow 1600 kg, but can be uprated to 2300 kg when fitted with Ford's heavy-duty towing pack. The all-wheel drive model is rated to tow 2700 kg when fitted with the heavy-duty towing pack. I wouldn't recommend towing above the rated maximum.
