BMW X1 2017 review: sDrive18d
The BMW X1 is the smallest and most affordable BMW SUV you can buy. But does this mean it’s cheap and tiny, or maybe not a ‘real’ BMW?

The most affordable Audi Q2 on offer is the 1.4 TFSI front-wheel-drive version, which cuts a fine figure in the small SUV segment.
With pricing from $41,800 - which is $700 more than when the 2017 model launched - the Audi Q2 2018 entry variant remains an intriguing option for city-dwellers. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine has 110kW/250Nm, and is shared with the Volkswagen Golf. It has a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and, unlike the two models that sit above it, is front-wheel drive.
Standard kit includes new LED headlights which are far more attractive, not to mention more illuminating, than the existing halogen fitted to 2017 models. Audi's 'MMI' multimedia controller with sat nav and 'Audi Connect' makes use of a 7.0-inch dash-top screen, and the car comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
There is dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, leather seat trim, auto headlights and wipers, and 17-inch alloy wheels with a space-saver spare. A reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are all standard, and it has a five-star ANCAP safety score.
