The Ambiente is the entry point for the Everest range, and with the addition of a more affordable RWD option with five seats in 2017, it opened the door to Everest ownership for under $50K.
The differences between RWD and 4WD Ambiente grades are the full-time 4WD transmission (extra 104kg) and extra console controls for the Terrain Management System, electronic locking rear differential and hill descent control. Otherwise they are the same.
The Ambiente grade includes 17-inch alloy wheels and 265/65 R17 tyres with a matching spare, side steps, auto on-off headlamps, front fog lights and 'MyKey' control system. The 50-shades-of-grey interior includes cruise control, dual-zone climate control, rear view camera, rear seat ventilation controls and a 10-speaker sound system featuring a big 8.0-inch colour touchscreen interface (so easy to use) with Ford’s 'SYNC 3' connectivity system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Ambiente range starts with the RWD five-seater ($47,990) and RWD seven-seater ($48,990).
The 4WD variants push pricing above the $50K threshold, with the five-seater ($52,990) and seven-seater ($53,990).
