    There are two grades in the Tiguan Allspace range and the Comfortline is the more affordable with prices starting at $40,490 for the 110TSI entry variant, then stepping up to $45,490 for the mid-level 132TSI, before topping out at $46,990 for the 110TDI.

    You may or may not know this but those numbers hint at the power output of the vehicle. The 110TSI is a 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine making 110kW/250Nm, the transmission is a six-speed dual-clutch automatic and the official fuel consumption figure is 6.6L/100km (driving on urban and open roads).  

    The 132TSI has a 2.0-litre turbo four making 132kW/320Nm, the transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch auto and the official fuel economy number is 7.9L/100km.

    2019 Volkswagen Tiguan

    The 110TDI is the only diesel in the Comfortline grade – it’s a 110kW/340N 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel, the transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch auto and official fuel economy is 6.1L/100km.

    Only the 110TSI Comfortline is front-wheel drive, while the rest of the variants in the Allspace range are all-wheel drive.

    Standard features on all Comfortlines include an 8.0-inch touchscreen with sat nav, reversing camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, eight-speaker stereo, three-zone climate control, proximity key (keyless entry) and push button start, LED headlights, power tailgate with gesture open and 18-inch ‘Kingston’ design alloy wheels. 

    The Tiguan Allspace has an excellent armoury of advanced safety equipment including AEB.
